In the framework of promoting and developing higher education, the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shaker Majdi, a member of the Private Education Council, participated in the sixth session of the Private Education Council. The session was held on March 4, 2026, at Al-Zahra’a University in Karbala, under the chairmanship of Professor Dr. Haider Abd Dihad, Deputy Minister of Higher Education for Scientific Research, with the attendance of several general directors and senior ministry staff, in addition to a number of presidents of private universities in Iraq.
The session focused on discussions around several important topics related to admission and registration procedures in private universities, including the mechanisms and regulations necessary to ensure the smooth operation of these processes. The establishment of medical colleges and the need to provide a competitive educational environment in accordance with international standards were also discussed. Other key topics addressed during the meeting included taxes and university requirements that must be considered to ensure the success of the educational process.
The session also highlighted the tangible scientific achievements of private universities, which contribute to the development of higher education in Iraq. This meeting represents an important step towards enhancing coordination between private universities and the Ministry, contributing to improving the quality of education and providing better opportunities for students.
