On Sunday, March 15, 2026, the Department of Chemical Engineering organized a scientific seminar presented by Dr. Haider Alaa Al-Jaafari, which addressed the mechanism of fractional distillation and its applications in the chemical and petroleum industries, with the participation of a number of third-year students, with the aim of enhancing scientific knowledge and linking theoretical aspects with practical applications. During the seminar, he provided a scientific explanation of the mechanism of fractional distillation, highlighting its importance in industrial separation processes and its role in improving production efficiency and separating different components. He also addressed the theoretical foundations related to boiling point curves and vapor-liquid equilibrium, while presenting its applications in the chemical and petroleum industries. This seminar is part of the department’s efforts to support the quality of education and promote innovation in engineering fields, in line with sustainable development goals and the preparation of scientific cadres capable of meeting the demands of the job market.
