As part of the Department of Radiological Techniques’ commitment at the College of Health and Medical Technologies, Al-Mustaqbal University, to strengthen students’ practical competencies and enhance their exposure to clinical environments, a group of students from the department conducted a scientific visit to Al-Hilla Teaching Hospital. The visit aimed to provide students with direct insight into the radiological equipment used in clinical practice and to familiarize them with the operational procedures within hospital radiology departments.
During the visit, the students toured the hospital’s radiology unit, where they observed several diagnostic imaging devices, particularly conventional radiography systems and the Computed Tomography (CT) scanner. The students were introduced to the principles of operation of these devices, as well as their significant role in the accurate diagnosis of a wide range of medical conditions. The visit also provided an opportunity to observe standard procedures followed during radiological examinations and patient imaging processes.
The visit was supervised by Specialist Dr. Lamees Abdul-Rahim Nabat and Mr. Haider Abdul-Karim Majeed, who provided academic explanations regarding the functioning of the imaging equipment and the professional practices adopted within radiology departments. They also engaged with students by answering their questions and offering practical insights that helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and clinical application.
Such academic visits represent an essential component of the department’s educational strategy, as they contribute to strengthening students’ practical skills, increasing their familiarity with real clinical settings, and preparing them to meet the professional demands of the rapidly evolving field of radiological and medical imaging technologies.
