Under the patronage of the President of al mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, the university launched a large-scale tree-planting campaign across its campus and surrounding areas. The campaign resulted in the planting of ten thousand perennial tree saplings, as part of the university’s contribution to the National Afforestation Program and in support of national efforts aimed at environmental protection and sustainability. The initiative was carried out in coordination with the Office Affairs Department of the University Presidency, which organized and supervised the implementation of the campaign.
This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to its academic and societal role in supporting environmental efforts, as well as its dedication to expanding green spaces across the campus. These efforts contribute to improving the campus environment and creating healthy, natural, and attractive spaces for students and staff, in addition to helping mitigate the negative impacts of climate change.
The campaign witnessed wide participation from academic leaders, faculty members, university staff, and students—particularly members of the “Sustainability Ambassadors” initiative, who played an active role in the planting activities. Saplings were distributed and planted across various locations within the campus, enhancing vegetation cover and adding a sustainable environmental and aesthetic character to the university’s facilities.
This campaign aims to increase green spaces, reduce the carbon footprint, and contribute to addressing climate change challenges by fostering environmental awareness among students and the university community, as well as encouraging volunteer initiatives that strengthen the role of academic institutions in environmental protection and community service.
