Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Magdy, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, inaugurated the Agricultural Research Station on campus in conjunction with National Tree Planting Day, in a strategic move that reflects the university’s commitment to advancing applied scientific research and supporting the nation’s aspirations in the agricultural sector. The station was established under the direct supervision of the Office of the President to serve as an effective link between academic theory and practical application by conducting field studies that contribute to the development of production and the improvement of natural resource efficiency in accordance with rigorous scientific methodologies. The station works on designing and implementing agricultural experiments that include crop variety improvement and the evaluation of modern techniques in soil and water management and plant pest control, relying on advanced statistical designs to ensure the accuracy of results and their practical applicability. The station comprises specialized scientific units, including experimental fields, greenhouses, and laboratories for soil and plant analysis, as well as units for seed propagation and plant breeding, making it a comprehensive facility serving researchers and students. During the opening ceremony, the University President emphasized that the establishment of the station represents a cornerstone in the University’s journey toward leveraging scientific research to serve society and enhance food security, noting that the timing of this achievement with national afforestation campaigns reflects Future University’s commitment to environmental stewardship and the promotion of a culture of sustainability. Through these scientific and environmental initiatives, the university continues its pioneering role in building a knowledge-generating educational environment that actively contributes to the development of the national agricultural sector and the achievement of sustainable development goals.
