The Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies Engineering organized an awareness lecture on protection against cyber extortion for first-year female students.

The Department of Artificial Intelligence Technologies Engineering at Al-Mustaqbal University, under the patronage of the respected Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in cooperation with the Women’s Affairs Division and the Women’s Affairs Unit, held an awareness lecture on Tuesday, March 17, 2026. The lecture targeted first-year female students and took place in one of the halls of the engineering building on campus. It was supervised by the Head of the Department, Assistant Professor Dr. Zahraa Hashim Karim, with the participation of the female staff of the department, as part of the activities celebrating International Women’s Day. The lecture included comprehensive awareness guidelines on mechanisms to protect female students from the risks of cyber extortion, ways to maintain digital privacy, and safeguard intellectual property related to personal content. It also highlighted safe practices for using digital platforms, contributing to enhancing their digital awareness. This initiative aimed to empower female students and equip them with the knowledge and skills necessary to protect themselves in the digital space, as well as to promote a culture of self-reliance in developing innovative projects and building an independent academic path. This activity aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 5 (Gender Equality), by supporting quality education and empowering women scientifically and technologically. The lecture concluded with the distribution of flowers to the students as a gesture of appreciation for the role of women, reinforcing Al-Mustaqbal University’s leading position among private universities in Iraq and affirming its pioneering role in serving the academic community.
