Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, esteemed President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in collaboration with the Women Affairs Division, the Women Affairs Unit at the Technical Engineering College / Department of Cybersecurity Engineering organized an awareness campaign titled “Digital Security is Your Responsibility” on Monday, March 17, 2026, presented by teaching assistant Shahd Ghalib, targeting the female students of the department. The campaign aimed to raise awareness among students about the importance of digital security and the necessity of protecting personal accounts from hacking and cyber threats, by introducing basic protection methods such as using strong passwords, enabling two-factor authentication, avoiding sharing personal information, as well as educating about phishing risks, how to detect them, and how to handle cases of hacking and cyber extortion. The campaign also included a set of simplified awareness guidelines, such as updating applications, checking privacy settings, and using trusted networks, contributing to enhancing safe technology usage among students. This campaign comes in implementation of the Third National Plan for Women, Security, and Peace (2025–2030), in line with the protection pillar that focuses on enhancing women’s safety in various fields, particularly in the digital space, by reducing potential cyber risks. Additionally, the campaign featured a training component, including courses aimed at developing women’s skills in digital security, enhancing their competence in protecting personal data, safely handling modern technologies, and boosting their confidence and awareness to face cyber threats. The campaign also contributes to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) by spreading digital knowledge and awareness, and Goal 5 (Gender Equality) by empowering women digitally and enhancing their role in safe technology use. This activity emphasizes the department’s role in supporting participation and leadership, empowering women, and strengthening their position in the educational environment.
