Al-Mustaqbal University, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, celebrated World Water Day on March 22, an annual occasion dedicated to highlighting the importance of freshwater and the necessity of its sustainable management. The 2026 activities focused on the interconnection between water and gender equality, emphasizing the vital role of women and girls in addressing water-related challenges. The event extended beyond formal proceedings, witnessing active engagement from students who participated in awareness campaigns and activities aimed at promoting responsible water consumption in daily life. The university also introduced practical initiatives, including showcasing hydroponic agriculture as an innovative solution for reducing water usage. Furthermore, the activities highlighted the role of women and girls in water resource management through workshops and seminars that stressed the importance of their inclusion in decision-making processes, particularly in light of increasing environmental challenges. This strong community engagement reflects the university’s commitment to being part of the solution—not only through awareness, but also through practical steps that foster a deeper, more responsible understanding of water as a fundamental resource and a universal right for all.
