Universit Al-Mustaqbal, under the leadership of Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, celebrated World Water Day on March 22, 2026, by launching a series of specialized activities focused on the strategic relationship between water sustainability and gender equality.
The event featured an international specialized conference, along with scientific workshops that highlighted the leadership roles of women and girls in water resource management and environmental decision-making. The university also launched a pioneering community initiative based on hydroponic farming techniques, aimed at optimizing water consumption and enhancing water security.
In parallel, extensive awareness campaigns—both in-person and virtual—were conducted, targeting students, the local community, and farmers to promote responsible water use and encourage the adoption of modern water distribution technologies.
These efforts align with Sustainable Development Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation for All) and reaffirm the Al-Mustaqbal University firm commitment to environmental issues and addressing climate change challenges. The initiative also emphasizes that access to water is a fundamental human right that requires collective action to ensure sustainability for future generations.
