Al-Mustaqbal University, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, launched the activities of World Water Day 2026, observed on March 22, emphasizing the importance of protecting water resources and ensuring their sustainability for future generations.
This year’s events highlighted the vital role of women and girls in water resource management and the promotion of gender equality, showcasing their contributions to developing effective solutions to environmental challenges.
The activities included awareness campaigns on water conservation, a specialized scientific conference on environmental and water issues, and a community initiative on hydroponic agriculture aimed at reducing water waste and preserving resources, in line with Sustainable Development Goal 6: “Water for All.”
The program also featured workshops and scientific seminars focusing on women’s empowerment in the water sector, along with presentations of the latest innovations and technologies in water management and distribution, contributing to increased community awareness and responsible decision-making.
Al-Mustaqbal University reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to supporting environmental and sustainability issues, calling on everyone to adopt responsible practices to preserve water as a fundamental right and ensure a better future for generations to come.
