With the rapid advancements in the communications and technology sector, empowering women has become a cornerstone for innovation and supporting sustainable development, as their energy and creativity play a pivotal role in shaping a more advanced and inclusive digital future. Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in collaboration with the Women’s Affairs Division, the Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Engineering Technologies / Department of Communications Engineering organized, on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, an awareness activity titled “The Role of Women in Developing the Communications Sector as a Means to Strengthen Global Companies and Achieve Development.” The session was presented by Asst. Lecturer Ayat Eyad Al-Sharifi and focused on supporting Sustainable Development Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure The event highlighted women’s contributions to digital innovation, e-marketing, and supporting technological transformation in organizations to enhance global competitiveness. It also emphasized the importance of empowering women and providing specialized training environments in technology and communications, contributing to the development of a sustainable knowledge-based economy. The activity aimed to raise awareness of the role of women in technical sectors, empower them to actively participate in economic development, and reinforce the concept of equal opportunities within the workplace.
