An awareness workshop titled “Protecting Women and Addressing Violence Against Them” was held as part of the Women’s Empowerment Program, under the supervision of M.M. Nour al-Din Saad Abis, with the participation of a number of students and individuals interested in social issues. The workshop addressed the concept of violence against women in its various forms, including physical, psychological, social, and economic violence, while highlighting its causes and negative effects on individuals and society. It also touched on the legal aspects that ensure the protection of women, as well as the role of educational and community institutions in curbing this phenomenon. During the workshop, the lecturer emphasized the importance of community awareness and fostering a culture of mutual respect, stressing the need to empower women and grant them an active role in society, thereby contributing to building a safe and stable environment at Al-Mustaqbal University, the first among Iraqi universities.
