The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Abrar Falah Naji and Assoc. Prof. Zainab Hassan Ali, organized an awareness campaign titled “Water and Sustainable Development” to mark World Water Day on March 25, 2026, at the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries.
The campaign included a series of guidelines and educational information highlighting the challenges facing the water sector and the importance of sustainable management of this vital resource, as well as promoting positive behaviors among students in managing water and reducing water waste.
The campaign aims to raise awareness of the importance of conserving water resources and rationalizing their consumption, thereby ensuring sustainability for future generations and aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 6 on clean water and sanitation.
At the conclusion of the campaign, the importance of continuing to organize such awareness-raising activities was emphasized, given their active role in fostering responsible environmental awareness among students and the community.
