Sponsored by the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, an awareness campaign titled “Water: The Secret of Life” was organized on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, on the university campus, with the aim of highlighting the dangers of water pollution and its negative impacts on human health and the environment. The campaign was supervised by Ms. Abrar Falah Naji and Ms. Zainab Hassan Ali, and included the provision of educational information and important guidelines on the causes of water pollution, methods of prevention, and the importance of conserving this vital resource through the adoption of sound environmental practices. The campaign also focused on fostering a culture of environmental awareness among students and strengthening their role in protecting water sources from pollution, given the significant impact this has on achieving environmental sustainability and instilling a sense of responsibility toward natural resources. This campaign is part of the university’s support for environmental initiatives and aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 6 on ensuring access to clean water and sanitation for all, while emphasizing the importance of collective efforts to conserve water as the foundation of life.
