Al-Mustaqbal University, under the presidency of Prof. Hassan Shakir Majdi, inaugurated its Agricultural Research Station on campus on Tuesday, March 21, 2026, coinciding with National Tree-Planting Day. This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to promoting applied scientific research and supporting sustainable agricultural development. The establishment of the research station, supervised by the Diwan Affairs Department, aims to conduct applied studies and field experiments that contribute to improving agricultural production and optimizing the use of natural resources. The station serves as an effective bridge between theoretical research and practical application in agricultural fields. The station designs and implements agricultural experiments using precise scientific methodologies, including crop variety improvement, evaluation of modern farming techniques, soil and water management, pest and plant disease control, and development of sustainable farming systems. Advanced statistical designs and experimental methodologies are employed to ensure accuracy and practical applicability of the results. The research station comprises specialized units, including experimental fields, greenhouses, laboratories for soil, water, and plant analysis, and units for seed propagation and plant variety improvement. During the inauguration ceremony, Prof. Hassan Shakir Majdi emphasized that the establishment of the station represents a strategic step for Al-Mustaqbal University in leveraging scientific research to serve society and enhance food security. He noted that coinciding the opening with National Tree-Planting Day demonstrates the university’s commitment to supporting environmental initiatives and promoting a culture of sustainability and natural resource preservation.
