The Department of English Language and Literature at the College of Arts and Human Sciences at Al Mustaqbal University organized a specialized workshop addressing the protection of water resources in Iraq and strategies for managing water scarcity. The event was attended by the Dean of the College Dr Hussain Waheed and the Head of the English Department Dr Assim Abboud Zbar alongside numerous faculty members and staff. The workshop provided a profound journalistic analysis of the water crisis in Mesopotamia examining the impacts of climate change and international policies on the levels of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers while emphasizing the vital role of academic institutions in promoting a culture of rational consumption and resource preservation. Participants highlighted during the narrative discussions that water conservation is a fundamental pillar of Iraqi national security requiring combined scientific and social efforts to adopt modern irrigation techniques and sustainable management to secure the rights of future generations. The session concluded with an emphasis on fostering environmental awareness among students and the community as essential partners in protecting national wealth from depletion and achieving long term ecological balance.
