On Wednesday, March 25, 2026, the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries at the College of Engineering, Future University, organized an online workshop titled “The Use of Artificial Rain to Provide Water for Agriculture and Groundwater and Improve the Environment,” presented by Prof. Alaa Dhari Jawad in the presence of a number of faculty members and students, with the aim of highlighting modern technologies in water resource management and promoting environmental sustainability. The workshop explained the concept of artificial rain and its application in increasing water resources, highlighting its role in supporting the agricultural sector and improving groundwater quality, while reviewing the most prominent technologies used in this field and the key challenges associated with it. This workshop is part of the department’s efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 6 on clean water and sanitation and Goal 13 on climate action, thereby reinforcing the academic institution’s role in addressing environmental challenges and providing sustainable scientific solutions.
