On the occasion of World Waste Day, the Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering organized a brochure distribution activity across the university campus on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. The activity was carried out by Assistant Lecturer Mariam Ghassan Ghaffar, Engineer Aya Talib Hassan, and Assistant Lecturer Hala Muhannad.
The activity addressed several key themes highlighting the concept of waste in its various forms, its impact on resources and the environment, as well as the importance of rationalizing consumption and adopting more efficient resource-use practices within the university community.
This initiative aims to promote responsible behaviors in dealing with resources and encourage students to adopt sustainable practices that contribute to reducing waste and achieving a more efficient and sustainable environment.
This activity is aligned with SDG 12: “Responsible Consumption and Production”, by reducing waste and promoting the efficient use of resources.
