The Presidency of Future University has issued a university directive setting out the procedures for reviewing applications for tuition fee reductions and establishing the relevant committees, in accordance with the powers vested in the University Presidency and as part of its efforts to support students in line with specific eligibility criteria.
Key points of the new guidelines:
• Formation of specialised committees: It has been decided to form a central committee chaired by the Academic Assistant, in addition to sub-committees in each faculty chaired by the Deans, to undertake the tasks of receiving and reviewing applications.
• Discount rates: The guidelines set the discount rate at a minimum of 5% and a maximum of 20%, based on a case-by-case assessment, with recommendations submitted to the University Council for approval.
• Quota system: For each academic stage, i.e. 100%, faculties are required to nominate only one student for every 1% of the total number of students admitted to that stage.
• Ministerial and central reductions: The Central Committee shall examine all reductions included in the Ministry’s admission guidelines or direct ministerial orders, as well as reductions issued by the University President.
Deadlines:
The University Presidency has urged the established committees to complete their tasks in accordance with the following timetable:
1. Faculty sub-committees: to complete their work by 9 April 2026 at the latest.
2. The Central Committee: shall complete its work and submit its final recommendations by 15 April 2026 at the latest.
The University has called on all administrative bodies and faculties to adhere to these guidelines to ensure transparency and fairness in the awarding of benefits to students.
