Modern technology plays a crucial role in managing and protecting water resources, which are facing increasing pressure due to rapid population growth and severe climate change that has caused drought in many regions around the world. The use of remote sensing systems and satellites enables precise monitoring of water levels in groundwater reservoirs and lakes, helping decision-makers develop proactive plans to address water scarcity and distribute water quotas equitably and efficiently. Smart irrigation technologies, which rely on the Internet of Things (IoT), have also emerged as a radical solution to water waste in the agricultural sector. Soil sensors measure moisture and transmit real-time data, allowing for the precise allocation of only the required amounts of water. In the field of water treatment, nanotechnology and advanced membranes have contributed to converting wastewater and brackish water into potable water for drinking and irrigation at a lower energy cost, opening new horizons for regions suffering from a scarcity of freshwater resources. Furthermore, advanced algorithms and artificial intelligence help in the early detection of leaks in vast pipeline networks, which previously resulted in the loss of enormous quantities of water before it reached consumers. Innovation in the design of water-efficient household appliances and digital systems that track individual consumption patterns contributes to raising community awareness and changing daily behaviors towards preserving this national resource. It is worth noting that digital twin technology for cities allows for the simulation of water flow and testing of infrastructure efficiency before implementation, thus reducing environmental risks and extending the lifespan of water facilities. Integrating desalination technologies using renewable energy represents a qualitative leap towards comprehensive sustainability, ensuring water availability without increasing harmful carbon emissions. Big data platforms also play a role in analyzing historical rainfall patterns, enhancing the ability to predict floods or prolonged droughts and take necessary measures to protect crops and human lives. Ultimately, technology remains the bridge connecting resource scarcity with increasing human needs, providing smart solutions that guarantee future generations' right to clean and sustainable water that supports life, development, and economic and social prosperity.
