On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the Technical Engineering College presented a workshop entitled "Requirements for Obtaining Program Accreditation for Engineering Technology Programs in Iraqi Universities." The event was held in the Engineering Building - Tiered Meeting Hall, and was attended by the Dean of the Technical Engineering College, Assistant Professor Dr. Azhar Mohsen, and the Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies, Lecturer Dr. Zahraa Hashem Karim, as well as heads of scientific departments, members of quality assurance units, and department staff.
Professor Dr. Saad Mutsher Abbas presented a training lecture on program accreditation standards and the strategies for meeting them. He discussed several key topics, including the concept and importance of program accreditation, adopted standards, learning outcomes, and methods of assessment, mechanisms for continuous evaluation and improvement, documentation requirements and accreditation file preparation, and the role of academic departments in meeting quality standards.
This workshop sought to increase the application of quality standards and academic certification, as well as to improve the academic level of engineering programs in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals, notably Goal 4 on quality education. The program also saw active participation from attendees through discussions and questions aimed at enhancing academic achievement.
