A Scientific Seminar Discusses the Challenges and Opportunities for Developing Prosthetics Engineering in Iraq

The Department of Prosthetics and Orthotics Engineering held a scientific seminar entitled “The Reality of Prosthetics Engineering in Iraq: Challenges and Opportunities” on Thursday, 5/3/2026, presented by Technician Mohammed Habib Hussein. The seminar addressed the أبرز challenges facing the prosthetics sector in Iraq, including limited resources and modern technologies, as well as the need to develop specialized professional staff. It also reviewed future opportunities to advance this field, particularly through adopting advanced technologies and enhancing continuous education and training programs. The seminar witnessed notable interaction from students, where discussions were opened, and various questions were raised, contributing to enriching their scientific knowledge and understanding. This seminar aims to prepare qualified students capable of keeping pace with developments in this important humanitarian field, contributing to improving the quality of services provided to patients, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being) and Goal 4 (Quality Education).
