In alignment with Al-Mustaqbal University's effort’s to support the The Media Department at the College of Arts and Humanities held a specialized academic workshop titled “The Role of the Media in Achieving Sustainable Development: Perspectives and Applications,” in line with Al-Mustaqbal University's efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals. The workshop was held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, with a notable attendance of first-stage students, as part of the department's training plans aimed at linking academic curricula with contemporary global issues. The session was presented by Dr. Mohammed Fayadh Hassan, who reviewed the concepts and dimensions of sustainable development (environmental, economic, and social). He highlighted the pivotal role that media plays in raising community awareness and guiding public opinion toward positive behaviors that ensure building a sustainable future. The workshop included a presentation of case studies of successful media campaigns that contributed to achieving developmental goals. The session also witnessed an open discussion and significant engagement from students, who enriched the workshop with their questions and interventions, reflecting the rising generation's interest in utilizing media to serve societal causes. This event is part of a series of activities organized by the Media Department to consolidate awareness of sustainable development among students and to prepare media professionals capable of keeping pace with global transformations and contributing effectively to nation-building.
