Al-Mustaqbal University Launches Its 5th Annual Book Fair Under the Slogan “Our Book, Our Future”

Al-Mustaqbal University inaugurated, on the morning of Saturday, April 4, 2026, the activities of its 5th Annual Book Fair on campus. The event was held under the generous patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, and witnessed wide attendance from faculty members, students, as well as a distinguished group of intellectuals and individuals interested in cultural affairs. This exhibition is considered the largest cultural event among Iraqi universities. In a speech delivered on behalf of the university presidency, Professor Dr. Abbas Abdul Ali Al-Bawi, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, emphasized that the fair represents a leading knowledge platform reflecting the university’s commitment to supporting culture, spreading scientific awareness, and strengthening students’ connection with books. The fair featured participation from 25 publishing houses from various countries around the world, offering a rich diversity of scientific and literary publications. It also included a comprehensive cultural program with meetings featuring prominent writers, poets, and intellectuals, in addition to theatrical performances and art exhibitions. Furthermore, an initiative was launched to distribute free book purchase coupons to encourage students to read and enhance their culture of knowledge and exploration. The organization of this exhibition aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 related to quality education, by providing a stimulating educational and cultural environment that contributes to building a knowledgeable and aware society. Through this event, Al-Mustaqbal University—ranked first among private universities in Iraq—reaffirms its commitment to fostering an integrated academic and cultural environment that prepares a generation capable of keeping pace with knowledge advancements and shaping the future. The fair is expected to continue for a full week, offering visitors a broader opportunity to explore the latest publications and participate in a variety of cultural activities.
