A scientific workshop titled “Maintaining Water Sustainability Using Artificial Intelligence” was held under the patronage of Professor Dr. Hassan Shakir Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, and in collaboration with the Women Empowerment Division. The workshop took place on April 5, 2026, on the campus of Al-Mustaqbal University, and was organized by the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies. It aimed to highlight the importance of employing artificial intelligence techniques in managing water resources and achieving their optimal utilization. The workshop included presentations on modern concepts in environmental data analysis, prediction of water resources, and reducing waste through intelligent systems. It also featured scientific and practical themes, interactive discussions, and valuable contributions that reflected the growing awareness of the importance of these technologies in addressing contemporary environmental challenges. Additionally, practical models and innovative approaches were presented, contributing to the preservation of natural resources and promoting a culture of responsible water usage. This workshop aligns with the direction of Al-Mustaqbal University—ranked first among private universities in Iraq—toward supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and Goal 13 (Climate Action), through the adoption of smart technological solutions that contribute to achieving environmental sustainability. Furthermore, this workshop is part of the implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025–2030), and reaffirms the department’s role in supporting participation, leadership, and women’s empowerment, as well as enhancing their position within the educational environment. This contributes to building a conscious and responsible generation capable of utilizing modern technologies, developing analytical and applied thinking skills, and providing smart solutions that keep pace with technological advancements while preserving natural resources.
