A Workshop in the Department of Medical Physics Reviews Scientific Solutions to Water Scarcity
A scientific workshop organized by the Department of Medical Physics at the College of Science at Almustaqbal University reviewed the most important scientific solutions to water scarcity on March 26, 2026, through a lecture delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ali Shalman, as part of the department’s academic activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and spreading scientific culture among students.
The workshop addressed several important topics focusing on the causes of water scarcity and its environmental, economic, and social impacts, in addition to presenting a number of scientific and practical solutions that can help reduce this problem, including rational water consumption, improved water resource management, and the use of modern technologies to preserve water resources.
During the workshop, the lecturer explained that the water crisis is no longer merely a service-related issue, but has become a vital challenge that requires scientific awareness as well as institutional and community cooperation. He stressed the importance of employing scientific knowledge to develop realistic solutions that contribute to protecting natural resources and achieving sustainability.
The workshop also witnessed positive interaction from attendees through questions, discussions, and remarks that reflected students’ interest in the issue of water and their willingness to understand its scientific and environmental dimensions, which enriched the workshop and strengthened its awareness goals.
The organization of this workshop came within the Department of Medical Physics’ efforts to connect academic work with contemporary environmental issues and to help prepare students who possess scientific awareness and social responsibility toward challenges affecting both the present and future of society, especially the issue of water.
