A scientific lecture organized by the Department of Medical Physics at the College of Science at Almustaqbal University on April 5, 2026, explained the importance of using water wisely and the role of simple daily behaviors in protecting the environment. The lecture was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Zainab Jasim as part of the department’s academic and awareness activities aimed at developing students’ environmental consciousness. The lecture addressed several key topics that focused on the importance of water as an essential resource for life and showed that preserving it is no longer just an individual behavior, but a shared responsibility that requires constant awareness and practical application within the university, the home, and the wider community. It also reviewed a number of simple behaviors that help reduce waste, such as rational daily water use, turning off unused water sources, and promoting a culture of protecting natural resources. During the lecture, the instructor explained that protecting the environment begins with small but meaningful actions, and that spreading this kind of awareness among students contributes to building a more responsible society that understands its duty toward natural resources. She also emphasized that the conscious use of water is an important step in supporting sustainability and preserving environmental balance for future generations. The lecture witnessed positive interaction from attendees through questions, comments, and discussions that reflected students’ interest in environmental issues and the importance of linking scientific knowledge with daily behavior, which contributed to enriching the lecture and achieving its educational and awareness goals. The organization of this event came within the Department of Medical Physics’ efforts to support scientific activities that promote environmental culture and help prepare students with scientific and social awareness capable of dealing with contemporary environmental issues, especially water conservation and environmental protection.
