The Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries at the College of Engineering / Al-Mustaqbal University organized an awareness campaign on April 5, 2026, titled “Green Spaces… The Lungs of Cities for Life,” under the supervision of Assistant Lecturer Abrar Falah Naji. The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the importance of green spaces in improving the quality of life in urban areas and promoting environmental sustainability.
The campaign highlighted the vital role of green spaces in purifying the air and reducing environmental pollution, as well as their contribution to improving public health and providing a suitable living environment.
It also addressed the importance of preserving and expanding green spaces within cities by encouraging environmental initiatives and fostering a culture of environmental awareness among students and the wider community.
This campaign comes as part of the department’s efforts to support the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 11, which focuses on making cities and communities more sustainable, and Goal 13, which addresses climate action—reflecting the role of academic institutions in serving both the environment and society.
