As part of its ongoing series of scientific activities aimed at enhancing students' practical skills, Future University's Biomedical Engineering Department organized a specialized workshop titled "Centrifuge and its Laboratory Applications." Supervised by Engineer Mohammed Abdul Karim Razouki, the workshop addressed the operational mechanisms of sensitive laboratory equipment and its role in accurate medical diagnosis.
About the Workshop:
The workshop aimed to introduce students to the operating principle of a centrifuge and its use in separating different sample components based on density and rotational speed. The session focused on the practical application of converting physical forces into precise laboratory results, contributing to improved quality in medical and research analyses.
Methodology:
The workshop employed an interactive presentation style, which included:
• Explaining the basic components of the device and the correct operating procedures to ensure accurate results and user safety.
• Clarifying the device's role in sample preparation and separation, and its importance in complex laboratory and medical applications.
• Discussing engineering standards for the maintenance and calibration of centrifuges to ensure consistent performance in hospitals and research centers. The workshop witnessed significant student engagement, as it helped simplify engineering concepts related to laboratory equipment and connect them to practical applications, thus enhancing graduates' competence in the medical and engineering job market.
