Istanbul Hosts a Scientific Meeting to Strengthen Collaboration Between Al-Mustaqbal University and Türkiye

Istanbul | April 7, 2026 As part of its efforts to strengthen international partnerships and engage with global academic experiences, Prof. Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, met with Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Turkish Higher Education Council (YÖK) and Turkish Minister of Higher Education, on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the EURIE 2026 Higher Education Summit and Exhibition in Istanbul. The meeting explored prospects for scientific and academic collaboration between Al-Mustaqbal University and leading Turkish universities, with a focus on several strategic areas, notably the development of digital transformation and artificial intelligence. Advanced Turkish experiences in cybersecurity and modern educational models supporting the health and digital agriculture sectors were highlighted. The two sides also discussed the importance of enhancing cooperation in green technology and sustainability. The President of Al-Mustaqbal University emphasized the institution’s commitment to adopting programs related to climate change, renewable energy, resource management, and the green economy, considering these fields strategic priorities to address global challenges. In the context of advancing the educational process, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi presented the university’s efforts to update curricula in line with the Bologna Process, ensuring educational quality and aligning graduates’ competencies with international standards and labor market requirements. The meeting concluded with the presentation of a commemorative shield featuring the ancient Babylonian civilization (the Lion of Babylon) to Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, symbolizing the depth of cultural and academic ties and acknowledging the active role of the Turkish Higher Education Council in supporting international collaboration among educational institutions.
