The President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, led a high-level delegation to the opening session of the Eurasia Higher Education Summit (EURIE 2026) held in Istanbul. This participation aligns with the university's strategic goals toward internationalization and strengthening its presence in major global academic forums.
The opening session witnessed an exceptional attendance of over 2,000 university presidents, experts, and international researchers, with official participation from the Turkish Minister of Higher Education and several other ministers. The ceremony featured keynote speeches by global higher education leaders, including the President of the Eurasian Universities Union, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Aydın; the Chief Global Affairs Officer at Times Higher Education, Mr. Phil Baty; and the Secretary-General of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Dr. Amr Salama. Their speeches focused on the necessity of international cooperation to face modern education challenges.
The Al-Mustaqbal University delegation included several academic leaders: Prof. Dr. Mudhafar Sadiq Al-Zuhairy, Director of Scientific and Academic Supervision; Assistant Professor Dr. Ali Shakir Majdi, Dean of the College of Engineering; Assistant Professor Dr. Azher Mohsin Abed, Dean of the College of Engineering Technologies; and Prof. Dr. Salwan Obaid, Director of the Al-Mustaqbal Center for Energy Research.
