Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, met with the Turkish Minister of Higher Education, Professor Dr. Erol Özvar, President of the Turkish Council of Higher Education (YÖK),In Istanbul on April 7, 2026,on the sidelines of the 11th edition of the EURIE 2026 Higher Education Summit and Exhibition in Istanbul. The meeting aimed to explore prospects for academic collaboration between Al-Mustaqbal University and Turkish universities, with a focus on digital transformation, artificial intelligence, green technology and sustainability, and updating curricula in line with the Bologna system to ensure the quality of education. The discussion included reviewing advanced Turkish programs in cybersecurity and examining the university’s plans to develop programs in renewable energy, resource management, and the green economy. The meeting concluded with an exchange of commemorative gifts, during which the university president presented the minister with a Babylonian lion statue, symbolizing the deep cultural and academic ties between Iraq and Turkey.
