On the morning of Wednesday, April 8, 2026, the activities of the Fifth Annual Al-Mustaqbal University Book Fair concluded, held under the slogan “Our Book, Our Future,” with distinguished academic and cultural attendance, reflecting the growing status of the fair as one of the أبرز cultural events within Iraqi universities.
The fair was organized under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. Over five days, the event witnessed remarkable cultural momentum through a series of diverse activities that demonstrated the university’s commitment to promoting culture, enhancing students’ intellectual awareness, and encouraging their active participation in the cultural scene.
This edition featured the participation of 25 Iraqi and Arab publishing houses, along with a distinguished group of academics, writers, and poets. The program included intellectual seminars, poetry evenings, specialized workshops, and book signing events, all of which attracted significant engagement from students and visitors.
In this context, the Head of the Student Activities Department, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Shaker, stated that this year’s edition stood out for its notable Arab and international participation, as well as a rich cultural program that fostered dialogue and exchange of expertise. He emphasized that the fair successfully supported the university’s vision of building sustainable cultural partnerships.
The event concluded with an honoring ceremony for participants and organizers, where the university presidency awarded shields and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts in making the event a success.
This fair reaffirms Al-Mustaqbal University’s leading role in supporting cultural movement in Babil Governorate and Iraq as a whole, as well as its continuous efforts to provide an integrated educational and cultural environment that contributes to building an aware and creative generation capable of keeping pace with future developments.
