Al-Mustaqbal University strengthened its global presence in the field of renewable energy through the participation of its delegation, headed by the Dean of the Engineering Technical College, Dr. Azhar Mohsen Abd, and the Director of the Energy Research Center, Dr. Salwan Ubaid, in the 18th edition of Solarex Istanbul 2026, held alongside the Eurasian Higher Education Summit (EURIE) 2026 in Istanbul, from April 4, 2026. The participation included extensive field tours, during which the delegation explored the latest innovations in the energy sector, including advanced solar panels, smart energy storage systems, and green hydrogen technologies. The visit also featured a series of meetings with leading global companies and specialized institutions to discuss opportunities for collaboration and knowledge transfer to Iraq. This step comes within the university’s efforts to develop Al-Mustaqbal Energy Research Center and update its applied research projects in line with rapid technological advancements, contributing to sustainable solutions for the local energy sector. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure). The Dean emphasized that this participation reflects the university leadership’s vision to empower academic staff, keep pace with global developments, and strengthen the integration between engineering education outcomes and labor market needs, reinforcing the university’s position regionally and internationally. Al-Mustaqbal University is the leading private university in Iraq.
