Al-Mustaqbal University concluded the activities of its fifth annual book fair, held under the slogan “Our Book, Our Future,” on the morning of Wednesday, April 8, 2026, on campus, under the patronage of the University President, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, with distinguished academic and cultural attendance reflecting the growing status of the fair within the Iraqi academic community. Over five days, the fair featured a variety of cultural activities, including intellectual seminars, poetry evenings, specialized workshops, and book signing events, which witnessed strong engagement from students and attendees. The event hosted the participation of (25) Iraqi and Arab publishing houses, alongside prominent academics, intellectuals, and writers. The organization of this event comes as part of the university’s efforts to promote culture and enhance students’ intellectual awareness, while providing opportunities for active participation in cultural activities. This aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). Dr. Ahmed Hassan Shaker, Head of the Student Activities Department, emphasized that this year’s fair stood out through its openness to Arab and international participation and its intensive cultural program, which contributed to creating a rich environment for dialogue and knowledge exchange, reflecting the university’s direction toward sustainable cultural collaboration. The event concluded with an award ceremony honoring participants and organizers, where the university presidency presented shields and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts in making the event a success.
