As part of the intensive preparations for the launch of the “Fourth Al-Mustaqbal Sustainability Week,” Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi, President of Al-Mustaqbal University, conducted an on-site inspection tour to review the readiness and final arrangements ahead of the official opening scheduled for Sunday, April 12, 2026. The tour included a comprehensive review of logistical and technical preparations across the event venues, ensuring the readiness of halls and platforms designated for seminars and workshops, as well as scientific and artistic exhibitions showcasing students’ and researchers’ work in the field of sustainable development. In this context, the Department of Power Mechanical Engineering Technologies stands out with its active participation, presenting a distinguished collection of applied projects and case studies that reflect the department’s commitment to sustainability. These contributions focus particularly on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and environmentally friendly cooling and air-conditioning technologies. Students of the department, under the supervision of faculty members, will also present research projects and graduation theses highlighting innovative engineering solutions aimed at reducing emissions and optimizing resource utilization, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals and strengthening the link between academic knowledge and practical application. During his tour, the University President emphasized that this event represents a key milestone in the university’s journey toward promoting a culture of sustainability. He noted that the active participation of academic departments, including the Department of Power Mechanical Engineering Technologies, reflects the university’s commitment to transforming scientific knowledge into practical solutions that serve both society and the environment.
