Professor Dr. Qusay Rashid Abdul Ameer, Head of the Mechanical Power Engineering Techniques Department, attended the 8th session of the Technical Engineering College Council, held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in the presence of the Dean and council members to discuss several important academic and administrative matters.
At the beginning of the session, the council reviewed the directives of the Ministry and the University, emphasizing the commitment of scientific departments to implement them according to approved regulations, along with a brief presentation of the الإجراءات taken in this regard. The council also discussed the status of the unified examinations and reviewed the level of technical and administrative readiness required to ensure their success.
In this context, the council addressed the ongoing preparations for Sustainability Week, praising the efforts of the scientific departments, including the Mechanical Power Engineering Techniques Department, in organizing activities and events that promote a culture of sustainability within the university environment.
The council also discussed proposals submitted by the departments to promote the upcoming academic year, especially in light of competition with private colleges, stressing the importance of developing academic programs and attracting students. On the scientific side, updates to the research plan were discussed, along with reviewing seminars, workshops, and training courses in preparation for approval.
The session also included discussions on student affairs, such as deferment, enrollment cancellation, transfers, and cases of failure due to absence, emphasizing the need to finalize these matters during this session as it is the last of the academic year. Additionally, the council addressed academic promotions and granting of titles, as well as reviewing faculty activities, including academic missions, thesis defenses, and supervision of postgraduate students.
At the conclusion of the session, several proposals and ideas were presented to enhance academic and administrative performance. Professor Dr. Qusay Rashid Abdul Ameer affirmed his commitment to supporting the college’s progress and improving the quality of academic and administrative work to achieve its educational and scientific goals.
