The Medical Physics Department at Al-Mustaqbal University Completes Its Preparations to Participate in the Fourth International Future Sustainability Week

The Medical Physics Department at Al-Mustaqbal University completed its preparations on Sunday, April 12, 2026, to participate in the activities of the Fourth International Future Sustainability Week, which was held in the Central Hall on campus from April 12, 2026, to April 15, 2026. This reflected the department’s commitment to presenting a distinguished academic presence aligned with the university’s vision of supporting sustainability and innovation. The preparations included setting up a dedicated booth for the department, which was organized in an integrated manner to showcase scientific and awareness activities as well as specialized materials reflecting the nature of medical physics and its applied fields. Scientific posters and introductory brochures were also prepared, covering topics related to the discipline, especially modern medical applications, medical imaging, radiation therapy, radiation measurements, and radiation protection, in addition to highlighting the connection between this specialization and the Sustainable Development Goals. These preparations were carried out under the supervision and follow-up of the department’s activity coordinators: Assistant Lecturer Ali Jaafar, Assistant Lecturer Hamza Abbas, Assistant Lecturer Hussein Ali Abd, Assistant Lecturer Afrah Hussein Jihad, Assistant Lecturer Iftikhar Thamer, and Assistant Lecturer Hussein. They played a clear role in organizing the booth and supervising its scientific and logistical requirements, which contributed to presenting it in a well-organized academic form worthy of the department, the College of Science, and Al-Mustaqbal University. The department’s students also actively participated in the preparation and organization process, contributing to the setup of the exhibits and arrangement of the explanatory materials. Their participation reflected a spirit of teamwork and institutional belonging, while also helping them develop their scientific and organizational skills through direct involvement in a university activity with academic and awareness-raising significance. The participation of the Medical Physics Department in this event aimed to introduce the importance of the specialization and its role in serving the healthcare sector, while highlighting its scientific contributions to supporting a more aware and sustainable educational and health environment. It also sought to spread scientific culture among students and visitors and strengthen the department’s presence in the academic activities hosted by the university. AL_mustaqbal University is the first university in Iraq.
