The Department of Intelligent Medical Systems at the College of Science, Al-Mustaqbal University, discussed a graduation project for fourth-year students entitled: “Design and Implementation of a Smart Sustainable Farm Using Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things,” on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in the scientific building halls / College of Science, in the presence of a number of faculty members and students. The project was prepared by the students Maryam Ameer Khalil Ibrahim, Alaa Saleh Hashoosh Mulla, Banen Abbas Alawi Omran, and Ayat Ali Hussein Alwan, under the supervision of Professor Dr. Mahdi Abadi Manea, within the framework of employing modern technologies to achieve environmental sustainability and develop smart agricultural systems. The project aimed to design and implement an integrated smart farm system based on Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, contributing to improving agricultural production efficiency, rationalizing the use of natural resources, and accurately monitoring environmental conditions in real time. The project included the development of a system capable of collecting and analyzing data to make intelligent decisions that enhance production quality and reduce waste, in line with global trends toward sustainable agriculture. The discussion session witnessed a detailed presentation by the students on the system components, mechanisms, and achieved results, with positive engagement from attendees, who praised the team’s efforts and highlighted the importance of the project in supporting technological innovation in the agricultural field. This project comes as part of the efforts of the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems to prepare multidisciplinary students capable of employing modern technology to serve society and achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 2: Zero Hunger, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure, and Goal 13: Climate Action. Al-Mustaqbal University is the first one university in Iraq.
