The 5th Annual Al-Mustaqbal Book Fair concluded on the morning of Wednesday, April 8, 2026, under the slogan “Our Book is Our Future.” The event was held amid wide academic and cultural attendance, reaffirming its position as one of the most prominent cultural events at Iraqi universities.
The exhibition was organized under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi. It ran for five consecutive days, featuring a variety of cultural activities that reflected the university’s commitment to supporting cultural development and enhancing students’ role in the knowledge landscape through active participation in various events.
This edition witnessed the participation of 25 Iraqi and Arab publishing houses, along with a distinguished group of academics, writers, poets, and intellectuals. The program included literary and cultural seminars, poetry evenings, specialized discussion workshops, as well as book signing sessions held throughout the duration of the fair.
In this context, the Head of the Student Activities Department, Dr. Ahmed Hassan Shaker, stated that this edition was marked by notable Arab and international participation and an intensive cultural program that contributed to promoting dialogue and exchanging expertise. He noted that the fair achieved its objectives in supporting the university’s vision of building sustainable cultural partnerships that meet the cultural, scientific, and artistic needs of society.
The event concluded with the honoring of participants and organizers, as the university presidency presented shields and certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts in the success of this prominent cultural event.
The university reaffirmed that this fair reflects its pioneering role in supporting the cultural movement in Babil Governorate and Iraq as a whole, and its continuous efforts to provide an integrated educational and cultural environment that contributes to building an aware and creative generation.
