The Department of Electrical Engineering Technologies at the College of Engineering Technologies, in cooperation with the Sustainability Week Committee at the university, organized an educational and developmental awareness campaign under the supervision of (Assistant Instructor Haider Karrar Hussein, Assistant Instructor Ali Naji Radi, and Assistant Instructor Bushra Majid Hameed) on Sunday, April 12, 2026, titled: "The Importance of Reducing Carbon and Thermal Emissions to Protect the Environment and Climate," under the patronage of the President of Al-Mustaqbal University, Professor Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi. ​The campaign highlighted the pivotal role of environmental awareness in protecting society by providing accurate information about the sources of carbon and thermal emissions and their health and environmental impacts. It focused on prevention and mitigation methods through the use of clean energy, rationalizing consumption, and improving appliance efficiency. It aimed to foster a culture of sustainability and build a safe environment that contributes to reducing climate change risks through short lectures, specialized workshops, and the distribution of instructional brochures. ​This initiative came as part of a series of activities organized by Al-Mustaqbal University to enhance health and cognitive awareness and highlight the contributions of scientific departments in building a sustainable future, in line with the university's strategic vision and within the "Sustainability Week" activities.
