As part of enhancing the practical and applied skills of anesthesia students, and in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 3 (Good Health and Well-being), a scientific visit was organized to Babylon Maternity and Children Hospital on Thursday, April 9, 2026. The visit was attended by a number of students accompanied by the teaching staff, Dr. Talib Jejan and Mr. Zaid Jawdat.
The visit included a field tour of several hospital departments, including the Emergency Department, general pediatric wards, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Students were introduced to modern medical equipment used in neonatal care, including incubators, central oxygen systems, and pediatric fluid administration devices.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the hospital director, Dr. Amir Al-Majidi, where knowledge and experiences were exchanged, and various scientific and practical aspects of patient care were discussed.
The visit also included a scientific and practical lecture for anesthesia students, aimed at enhancing their clinical skills and linking theoretical knowledge with practical application.
At the conclusion of the visit, the University Shield was presented to Dr. Amir Al-Majidi in appreciation of his efforts and cooperation in making this scientific visit a success.
