Assistant lecturers Zahraa Hussein Jassim and Ruqayya Muhannad Turki from the Department of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technologies presented a scientific study on the current state of using generative artificial intelligence technologies in higher education. This took place on Monday, April 13, 2026, at the Energy Research Center, as part of the activities of the Sustainability Week for the Future.
The study aimed to analyze student behavior and understand the impact of these technologies on their academic performance. The researchers relied on a field survey and statistical data analysis to obtain accurate and reliable results.
The findings highlighted the importance of regulating the use of artificial intelligence tools as supportive means within the educational process. They also emphasized the need to develop assessment methods and enhance students' critical thinking skills. Furthermore, the study contributes to supporting the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), by improving education quality and fostering technological innovation.
These research efforts reaffirm the leading role of Al-Mustaqbal University—ranked first among private universities in Iraq—in supporting scientific research and adopting modern technologies to serve the educational process and elevate the quality of its outcomes.
