The Department of Dialysis Kidney Techniques at the College of Health and Medical Techniques, Al-Mustaqbal University, organized a scientific workshop entitled:
“Towards a Sustainable Healthcare System: Integrating Physical Treatment and Psychological Support for Patients with Renal Failure”
on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, in one of the lecture halls of the medical building at the College of Health and Medical Technologies. The workshop was delivered by Assistant Professor Dr. Burhan Hadi from the College of Nursing, Al-Mustaqbal University.
The workshop provided a comprehensive overview of the physiological, psychological, social, and economic impacts experienced by patients with renal failure. It also presented several key themes related to statistical data on psychological disorders among these patients, including prevalence rates of clinical depression and anxiety. Furthermore, the workshop addressed appropriate healthcare strategies aimed at enhancing psychological support for patients.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness among students and attendees regarding the importance of adopting appropriate, humane, and health-oriented approaches when dealing with patients suffering from renal failure, as well as the necessity of implementing suitable measures to provide effective psychological support.
This workshop comes as part of the efforts of the Department of Dialysis Kidney Techniques to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education), through the academic and practical development of students.
