Awareness was raised about the risks of weak passwords that can lead to WiFi breaches, at the pavilion of the Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department at Al-Mustaqbal University on April 13, 2026, during the activities of the International Future Week held on campus, with the presence of a UNESCO delegation and the University President, Dr. Hassan Shaker Majdi.
This project, presented by Mr. Yasser Amer, demonstrated how weak passwords can be exploited by attackers to compromise wireless networks, while also providing practical guidance on creating stronger passwords and improving users’ digital security.
The activity aimed to promote cybersecurity culture and enhance digital awareness, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Goal 4 (Quality Education) and Goal 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
This event reflects the efforts of the Cybersecurity Engineering Technologies Department in supporting a secure digital environment and highlights the leadership of Al-Mustaqbal University as the leading private university in Iraq in adopting modern scientific and technological initiatives.
