The immune system is the body’s first line of defense, protecting it from diseases, viruses, and bacteria. With the increasing health challenges in the modern world, strengthening immunity has become essential for maintaining good health and preventing illness. Strengthening the immune system begins with following a healthy and balanced diet. The body needs essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and zinc. These nutrients can be obtained from fresh fruits and vegetables like oranges and lemons, as well as from nuts and seeds. It is also recommended to reduce the consumption of processed foods and fast food, as they can weaken the immune system. Regular physical activity is another important factor, as it improves blood circulation and helps the body resist diseases. Exercise does not need to be intense; even daily walking or light workouts are enough to keep the body active and healthy. Good sleep also plays a vital role in supporting immunity, as the body needs rest to repair and regenerate its cells. Lack of sleep can weaken the body’s ability to fight infections; therefore, getting sufficient sleep every day is highly recommended. Mental health should not be overlooked, as constant stress and anxiety can negatively affect the immune system. Practicing relaxing activities such as reading or meditation can help improve mood and reduce stress levels. In addition, drinking enough water supports body functions and helps eliminate toxins, which strengthens the immune system. Maintaining personal hygiene, such as regular handwashing, also reduces the risk of infections. In conclusion, strengthening the immune system does not depend on a single factor but rather on a balanced healthy lifestyle that includes proper nutrition, physical activity, sufficient sleep, and good mental health. By adopting these habits, individuals can maintain their health and protect themselves from many diseases. Yasmin Mouad. Al-Mustaqbal University The First University in Iraq
