Implementing the project of lighting MUC buildings and yards with Solar Energy

Within the College plan to convert the lighting of all MUC buildings and corridors, the Volunteer Team of renewable energy has implemented the second stage of lighting the College buildings with solar energy.<br />Assist Prof. Dr. Azher M. Abid, head of Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Engineering Department, has clarified that Al-Mustaqbal University College seeks to gradually shifting from using the Electrical Network and Generators to relying on Solar Energy in lighting streets, gardens, parks and billboards at night, reducing meanwhile electricity consumption inside buildings during the day. Such changeover to solar energy shall save 50% of electricity, compared to traditional lighting, in addition to lasting for longer life.<br />These initiatives and projects are being implemented under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Hasan Shakir Majdi, Dean of Al-Mustaqbal University, raising the slogan<br />“Towards a Sustainable University”<br />This slogan indeed calls for the accomplishment of Sustainable Development Goals, adopted by the United Nations, and as per a statement given by the MUC Dean, the College is highly interested in these goals, through which Al-Mustaqbal University College has managed to achieve high rankings among local as well as international universities.<br />
