Based on the principle of scientific cooperation and exchange of experiences between the Petroleum Research and Development Center and Iraqi universities and research institutions, Professor Engineer Ali Jassim Hammoud, the respected director of the Petroleum Research and Development Center, received in his office on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, a scientific delegation from the University of the Future, headed by Dr.. Alaa Dhari Al-Bayati, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Petroleum Industries, and Dr. Essam Kamel Saleh, consultant at the university presidency.<br />In coordination with the Department of Studies, Planning and Follow-up, in order to review and discuss the necessary ways to determine a mechanism for joint cooperation in completing joint research, supplementing the field of work and strengthening it with the academic aspect and interconnection by proposing solutions and treatments for the industrial problems facing the oil industry.<br />After a welcoming speech from the Center Director, he spoke about the nature of the Center’s work and the activities it is working on in the field of research and specialized studies, depending on the nature of the scientific departments that the Center embraces.<br />His Excellency also referred to the importance of scientific cooperation and building bridges of communication between universities and research centers and the mechanism of scientific cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which includes:<br />- Issuing an annual research plan for graduate students<br />- Contracting with postgraduate students<br />- Contracting with consultants from university professors. ..<br />During the visit, a field tour of the center’s laboratories was conducted, during which various topics that could be the focus of research cooperation during the coming period were discussed, and the equipment available therein and the laboratory and research services provided to the oil sector and the public sector were learned.<br /> It is worth noting that the visit included viewing the green hydrogen production unit of the Refining and Gas Research Department, which represents a research trend towards a clean, sustainable environment, as this unit is the first of its kind in Iraq and the research nucleus in supporting the oil industry, higher education, and scientific research, as it is a source of energy free of pollution. Carbon by dispensing with traditional fuels.<br />At the conclusion of the visit, the visiting scientific delegation presented the university shield to the Director of the Center in gratitude and appreciation for his great support for the visiting scientific delegation.
