Submitted by assist. lect. Anmar Fouad Kadhim . <br /> Bioceramics have a significant impact on prosthetic limbs by improving their functionality, durability, and comfort. These materials, such as hydroxyapatite and zirconia, are highly biocompatible and promote better integration with natural tissues, especially in osseointegrated prosthetics, reducing the risk of rejection. Bioceramics offer enhanced strength and wear resistance, extending the lifespan of prosthetic components, while their lightweight nature aids in distributing load more evenly, improving user comfort. Additionally, some bioceramics have antibacterial properties, lowering the risk of infections, and they can promote bone regeneration, which is crucial for the success of bone-anchored prosthetics. These advantages make bioceramics an important material for the future of advanced prosthetic limb development.
