If students are in a place where they feel safe and comfortable, then valuable learning can take place. When some people think of classroom management they tend to think of strict rules and regulations, but that is not necessarily true. I will provide classroom management through setting the tone of the classroom, by communicating my expectations both academic and behavioral clearly and directly at the beginning of the year. I will prevent behavior problems by engaging the students in activities and work that are challenging and meets the needs of every student. This method will not only keep them out of trouble but it will prevent the students from being bored with learning the content. I am committed to making my classroom a safe and challenging environment that engages my students through the content to be learned.<br />The comfort of the environment will come for the attitude that I will have, so it is important that I be welcoming, positive, and patient with my students.
